Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA): housing designed for participants with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. The catalogue funds SDA as a quotable amount and a vacancy adjustment.
The NDIS Support Catalogue 2026-27 lists 2 support items under 0131, funded from the Specialised Disability Accommodation (SDA) budget. Leaving out the time-of-day, rate-level and claim-type variants, the supports are:
- Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) - Quotable Amount
- SDA Vacancy - Person-Specific Adjustment
Who registers for 0131
SDA providers who own or manage enrolled SDA dwellings.
SDA must be delivered by a registered provider, and the dwelling must also be enrolled as SDA.
Groups 0131 is often confused with
- 0138 Assistance with supported independent living is the support delivered to people living in the home (SIL), which is a separate registration.
- 0115 Assistance with daily life tasks in a group or shared living arrangement covers other shared-living supports, including unplanned onsite shared supports in SDA.
Audit: verification or certification?
0131 is a certification group. You are audited against the NDIS Practice Standards Core Module, plus the Specialist Disability Accommodation Module, in two stages, with an onsite visit, interviews with workers and participants, and a mid-term audit. Your audit type is set by the highest of your groups, so registering for 0131 makes your whole registration a certification audit. See verification vs certification audits, how the NDIS audit works and what a certification audit costs.
