About Bluetail

Bluetail helps small and independent NDIS providers prepare for provider registration and audit without paying thousands of dollars to a consultant. It is run by one person, James, and built in the open. This page explains who is behind the site, what Bluetail does, and what it does not do, so you can decide for yourself whether it is right for you.

Who runs Bluetail

Bluetail is run solo by James, who also runs an NDIS support business in Australia. It grew out of working through NDIS registration and the day-to-day record-keeping the Practice Standards ask for, and seeing how much small providers are charged for what is, in large part, a set of policies and forms. The aim is to make that part affordable and clear. James writes the documents and the guides, responds to the contact form, and builds the tools.

What Bluetail is

A one-off, $50 document pack of Microsoft Word policies, agreements, registers and forms, pre-filled with your business name, ABN, contact details and logo. You can preview every page free before you decide. There is also a growing set of free resources: an NDIS registration FAQ, a verification-vs-certification reference, a free service agreement template, and a blog where the work is shared as it happens. A step-by-step DIY registration guide and a compliance CRM are in progress.

What Bluetail is not

Bluetail is not a consultant, a law firm, or a registered NDIS auditor, and it is not connected with the NDIS Commission or the NDIA. Buying the pack does not register you and does not make you compliant on its own. The documents are a starting point you tailor to how your business actually runs. Becoming registered still requires insurances, worker screening, the NDIS Worker Orientation Module, a PRODA account, an application to the NDIS Commission, and passing an audit by an approved quality auditor. We are upfront about this on every page that sells the pack.

How we keep the documents current

The NDIS rules change. When they do, the pack is updated, and every update is free for everyone who has signed up. Higher-risk documents (for example medication, mealtime and restrictive practices policies) are flagged in the pack as general starting points that an appropriately qualified person should review before you rely on them.

James, founder of Bluetail.James runs an NDIS support business in Australia and built Bluetail after going through the provider registration process and the ongoing record-keeping the NDIS Practice Standards require. He writes Bluetail’s documents and guides. James is not a lawyer or an NDIS auditor; Bluetail’s documents are starting templates you tailor to your own business, and high-risk policies should be checked by an appropriately qualified person.
