Written by James, creator of BluetailPublished 22 October 2026
From 1 July 2026, every therapy-type NDIS support item has its own separate items for short-notice cancellations, non-face-to-face work, travel time, NDIA-requested reports and telehealth. This page lists all 67 of them with their 2026-27 price limits, explains what each suffix means, and sets out when you can claim it.

What changed on 1 July 2026
Before 1 July 2026, a therapist claimed a cancellation, travel time or a report on the same item number as the session, and picked a claim type to say what it was. The NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27 replaced that for therapy-type supports. Each one now has five extra items, made by adding a suffix to the direct service item number. Occupational therapy for people 9 and over, 15_617_0128_1_3, for example, now comes with 15_617_0128_1_3_CA, 15_617_0128_1_3_NF, 15_617_0128_1_3_PT, 15_617_0128_1_3_RR and 15_617_0128_1_3_TH.
You claim the separate items in their own right, as a standard claim with no claim type. The support catalogue no longer allows cancellation, non-face-to-face, travel or report claim types on the direct service item.
| Item number ends in | What it’s for | Price limit |
|---|---|---|
| No suffix | The direct service: the therapy session itself, face to face | The item’s hourly price limit |
_CA | A short-notice cancellation | Same as the direct service item |
_NF | Non-face-to-face work for the participant | Same as the direct service item |
_PT | Provider travel time to deliver a face-to-face support | Half the direct service limit |
_RR | A report the NDIA has asked for | Same as the direct service item |
_TH | A support delivered by telehealth | Same as the direct service item |
When you can claim each one
These rules come from the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits 2025-26, which stay the NDIA’s claiming rules until it publishes new ones. Each charge also has to be explained to the participant and agreed in advance, normally in your service agreement.
_CAshort-notice cancellation. When the participant gives less than 2 clear business days’ notice, doesn’t show up, or isn’t there when you arrive, and you couldn’t find other billable work for the therapist in that time and still have to pay them. You can claim up to 100% of the agreed fee, and your service agreement has to set out your cancellation policy._NFnon-face-to-face. Work specific to the participant and part of delivering their support, such as writing a progress report for another provider, or (for capacity building supports) research tied to the participant’s goals. General administration is already covered by the hourly price and can’t be claimed: bookings, preparing the service agreement, entering details in your systems, making claims, plan monitoring, and general training or supervision._PTprovider travel time. Time spent travelling to deliver a face-to-face support, at no more than half the item’s hourly limit. Travel time is capped at 30 minutes each way in Modified Monash 1 to 3 areas and 60 minutes each way in Modified Monash 4 and 5. In remote and very remote areas travel is negotiated with the participant, still at no more than half the hourly limit. When you see more than one participant on a trip, split the travel between them as agreed in advance._RRNDIA-requested report. Only reports the NDIA asks for: the report at the start of a plan, the report for a plan reassessment, and other therapy reports the plan says are needed. A report you write for a support coordinator or another provider is non-face-to-face work (_NF), not an NDIA-requested report._THtelehealth. When delivering the support by telehealth is appropriate, it is part of delivering a specific support, and the participant has agreed in advance. The same standard of care applies as in person.
Kilometres, tolls and parking aren’t on any of these items. They are non-labour travel costs, claimed on the support’s provider travel non-labour item (for therapy for people 9 and over that’s 15_799_0128_1_3), and only where travel time could also be claimed.
A worked example
An occupational therapist visits a participant aged 30 at home in a Modified Monash 1 to 3 area, charging at the price limits, with everything below agreed in the service agreement. The claims are:
| What | Item number | Hours | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| One-hour therapy session at the participant’s home | 15_617_0128_1_3 | 1 at $193.99 | $193.99 |
| 15 minutes’ travel each way (30 minutes) | 15_617_0128_1_3_PT | 0.5 at $97.00 | $48.50 |
| One hour writing a progress report for the participant’s support coordinator | 15_617_0128_1_3_NF | 1 at $193.99 | $193.99 |
| Total, before kilometres | $436.48 | ||
Any kilometres driven go on 15_799_0128_1_3at the agreed rate per kilometre. If the participant cancels the next session the afternoon before, that’s less than 2 clear business days’ notice, so the therapist can claim up to the agreed session fee on 15_617_0128_1_3_CA.
Every therapy item and its separate items
All 67 therapy-type supports with separate items, from the NDIS Support Catalogue 2026-27. Prices are the 2026-27 hourly price limits. In each row, every item except _PT has the direct service price; the travel item is half. Remote means Modified Monash 6 and very remote Modified Monash 7. Supports delivered in person are priced by where the participant is; non-face-to-face work, NDIA-requested reports and telehealth by where the therapist is. Looking for one code? Things to watch
- Supports delivered before 1 July 2026 are still claimed the old way, on the direct service item with the claim type.
- Three codes are spelt differently in the two NDIA documents. The support catalogue lists
01_700_0118_1_3_CA2,01_700_0118_1_3_NF2and12_027_0126_3_3_CA2with a trailing 2, while the Pricing Schedule prints them without it. The catalogue is the NDIA’s list of claimable items, so this page shows its spelling. If a claim on one of them is rejected, check the spelling against the participant’s plan. - Price limits are maximumsfor NDIA-managed and plan-managed funding. Charge the rate you agreed with the participant, which can be lower. Self-managed participants aren’t bound by the price limits.
- Pick the item that fits the participant. Some professions appear in more than one section (therapy for people 9 and over, early childhood, Core, employment). The right item depends on the participant’s age and the budget in their plan that funds the support.
Let your invoices pick the right item
When you invoice from the Bluetail CRM, you record the session against the direct service item and it uses the matching cancellation, non-face-to-face, report and telehealth items automatically, at the price limits in the NDIS Support Catalogue 2026-27. Free for your first 3 months, then a flat $25 + GST a month.
Common questions
What does _NF mean on an NDIS support item number?
It is the non-face-to-face item for that therapy support. Since 1 July 2026, non-face-to-face work for a therapy support, such as writing a progress report for another provider, is claimed on the item number ending in _NF, at the same price limit as the direct service item, instead of choosing a non-face-to-face claim type on the main item.
What is 15_617_0128_1_3_PT?
It is the provider travel time item for occupational therapy for people 9 and over. Its 2026-27 price limit is $97.00 an hour ($135.80 remote, $145.50 very remote), half the $193.99 limit for 15_617_0128_1_3, because therapy travel time is limited to 50% of the hourly price limit.
Can I still claim a cancellation as a claim type on the main therapy item?
Not for therapy supports delivered from 1 July 2026. The support catalogue no longer allows cancellation, non-face-to-face, travel or report claim types on the direct service item. Use the separate item instead, such as the one ending in _CA for a short-notice cancellation. Supports delivered before 1 July 2026 are still claimed the old way.
Do support workers use these new items?
No. Only therapy-type items have them: therapy for people 9 and over, early childhood supports, therapy funded from Core, employment-related therapy, dietetics and exercise physiology, specialist behaviour support, hearing services and customised technology. Disability support worker items, such as assistance with daily life, keep the claim type on the item itself where the catalogue allows it.
Do kilometres go on the _PT item?
No. The _PT item is for travel time only. Kilometres, tolls and parking are non-labour costs, claimed on the provider travel non-labour item for the support (for example 15_799_0128_1_3 for therapy for people 9 and over), and only where travel time could also be claimed.
